Green Day is a genre of punk rock music group originating from California, the United States and consists of Billie Joe Armstrong (lead singer, guitarist), Mike Dirnt (base, supporting singer), and Tre Cool (drummer, singer supporters). Green Day has been recognized in the music world because of their success in restoring and re-create the famous punk rock genre, along with bands of the 1990s such as The Offspring and Rancid.
Their music has influenced many other punk bands like Blink 182 and Good Charlotte.
This music group has sold more than 24.2 million albums in the United States and more than 53.1 million albums worldwide. Green Day has won numerous awards, such as the MTV Video Music Awards and Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, as well as various other awards, and has won 3 Grammy Awards (Best Alternative Album for Dookie, Best Rock Album for American Idiot, and Record of the Year for Boulevard of Broken Dreams).
